Oklahoma swimwear designer launches second collection

In many ways the business has gotten easier, but it has also been a whirlwind of discoveries like the swimwear cycle including samples and shows. With over a year of experience, Ayers said she has become smarter about expectations – her own and those of others.

“People expect you to be in control,” she said, but problems arise every day. “A lot of people say, ‘Oh, cool, you design swimwear.’ This is not all we do.

Or whatever Ayers hopes to do.

For now, Bissy Swim is sold only on its website, bissyswim.com, although a few pop-up shops are being considered. She also thinks of men’s swimwear and women’s sportswear, but she knows these are possibilities for future projects.

“It’s best to have a brand that people trust, not to overdo yourself and grow as you grow older,” she said.

Ayers grew up in Snyder and graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. Her resume includes being a nanny, computer coder in Bali and Mexico, model, casting assistant, and Sports Illustrated model in the February 2018 swimsuit issue. After practically living and working in a bikini in Bali and in Mexico, she decided to create her own to save money. Friends wanted his costumes then.

After having tried the modeling profession one last time, she decides to devote herself to swimsuits.

“I feel like I have more control than I ever have now. I’ve taken a lot of directions in my life, ”she said, adding that it feels good to be passionate about it.
