Swimsuit season is here, and so is a new local store, coming straight to the Hamptons from their pop-up location in West Palm Beach. Andie, a swimwear, loungewear and lingerie store is now open on Sag Harbor’s Main Street.
This ever-evolving brand offers an online and now in-store shopping experience with various pop-up stores, including recent West Palm Beach and new Sag Harbor locations. Their values lie in comfort, style and fit for easier shopping for women of all shapes, sizes and ages. Andie’s pieces have been tested by thousands of women, to find the perfect combinations for every activity and shopper.
Founded in 2017 by Melanie Travis, the swimwear and lingerie company started primarily as a virtual brand. What made their mission unique was the home, the fitting and their direct-to-consumer promise. After a period when online shopping was the only option during the pandemic, Andie’s employees recognized the desire for an in-store experience. Unlike other brands, they have opted for a more temporary and flexible in-person option with pop-up stores in West Palm Beach, Sag Harbor and soon Berkeley, CA.
With no initial intention of being in stores, Andie opened her pop-up location in West Palm Beach on a trial basis. From November to April, they decided to go ahead with the boutique because of the ideal time, location and market for “intergenerational fashion brands,” says Michelle Copelman, VP of Brand. and Andie’s design. However, the proximity to water and seasonality of the South Florida pop-up proved to be a great fit for the brand.
The specific swimwear styles Andie is known for – including Malibu, Tulum, Mykonos and Amalfi – sold well at their first pop-up location, but customers also had a keen interest in their seasonal products. , having the possibility of shopping in -store. “There’s just more opportunity for discovery, more excitement or willingness to try something new,” Copelman says.
Andie was located at The Square, 700 South Rosemary Avenue, #132 in West Palm Beach. Their new location is on Main Street in Sag Harbor, a vibrant spot that attracts women from all demographics. The two pop-ups, both close to the beach, make shopping easier when needed for customers in Palm Beach, and will be ideal for those in the Hamptons. “In West Palm Beach, it happened a few times where women walked in, put the bathing suit on and left it and went straight to the beach,” Copelman says. “I think it’s like instant gratification to the max.”
Sag Harbor, a favorite destination in the Hamptons, should be a great location for this newly created pop-up. By focusing on the local crowd, vacationers and second home owners, Andie hopes to connect with the diverse female population. “Sag Harbor is almost like a representation of what Andie is, like this idea of cross-generational and kind of catering for so many different types of women,” Copelman says.
Open until December, the brand is looking to see what the change of season brings to the East End location. They plan to continue their core values of customer comfort while selling beach accessories and launching their new line of blankets.
The Sag Harbor store is located at 117 Main Street and is managed in-house by The Andie Company. Be sure to visit this limited-time swimwear hub in the East End.
