A swimwear boutique opens on Santa Claus Lane | Business

A new boutique has opened in Padaro Beach Village Shops, Kariella, featuring Southern California boho-chic clothing, swimwear and accessories. Owned by Amara Bessa, Kariella also has storefronts in Ojai and Ventura, with the locality of Carpinteria her latest venture.

Prior to opening Kariella, Bessa was a visual merchandiser for Donna Karan, Forever21, Tiki Girl, and Nordstrom, among others. At Kariella, Bessa said she hopes to create a highly personalized shopping experience that appeals to women who believe fashion should be both fun and effortless. As a single mother of two, Bessa created a mission for her company that she connected with: to help women feel confident in their skin.

With Kariella opening at Carpinteria, Bessa said it was something she had wanted to do for a long time. “For years people have been asking us to open a store near Carpinteria. Between there and Santa Barbara, there are not many clothing stores, especially the ones with good prices,” she said.

“Also, no one seems to be selling a lot of swimwear there… The main thing

we like to keep our swimwear in stock at all times. We have tons of them! From Frankies Bikinis to Bound by Bon Eye, Vitamin A and more, we have a great selection.

Kariella at Padaro Beach is located at 3823 Santa Claus Lane. It is open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
